VIRGINIA’S 67TH GOVERNOR AND FORMER U.S. SENATOR GEORGE ALLEN ENDORSES BLEVINS FOR SMYTH COUNTY COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY
Marion, Virginia -- Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Phillip “Bucky” Blevins has been endorsed by Virginia’s 67th Governor and former U.S. Senator George Allen.
“Phillip Blevins has dedicated his life to public service. First as a firefighter and EMT, then as an Air Force officer, and now as a prosecutor in his home of Smyth County. He will honorably and steadfastly enforce the rule of law. I am truly happy to give my full support and endorsement to my friend Phillip “Bucky” Blevins because I know he will work tirelessly to protect the citizens of Smyth County,” said Governor Allen.
“Governor Allen championed truth in sentencing through the abolition of parole. He has always protected Virginians. I am incredibly humbled and proud to receive the support of such a renowned Virginian and blessed to consider Governor Allen a mentor and role model,” Blevins said.
Governor Allen currently serves as a Reagan Ranch Presidential Scholar and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Appalachian School of Law. Allen first met Blevins through his service on the Board of Trustees.

Phillip Blevins grew up on his family’s tobacco and beef farm in Chilhowie. He has been endorsed by Democrat Incumbent Roy Evans and Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares. Blevins is a lifelong Republican who currently serves as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Smyth County. He and his wife, Katie Jo, live in Chilhowie with their two sons, Noah and Luke.
