Marion, Virginia -- Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Phillip “Bucky” Blevins has been endorsed by Former Secretary of Public Safety and Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore.


“I have known Phillip “Bucky” Blevins since he was a student at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Bucky has dedicated his life to public service and has the attitude, qualities, and work ethic we need in Commonwealth’s Attorneys across the state. I offer my full support and endorsement to my friend Phillip “Bucky” Blevins because I know he will work tirelessly to put victims first, criminals last, and protect the citizens of Smyth County,” said General Kilgore.


“Attorney General Kilgore has always put the safety of Virginians first. I am humbled and proud to receive the support of Former Secretary of Public Safety and Attorney General Kilgore. I am even more blessed to consider General Kilgore as a role model and friend,” Blevins said.


General Jerry Kilgore currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Appalachian School of Law and as a Member of Cozen O’Connor State Attorneys General Practice.

Phillip Blevins grew up on his family’s tobacco and beef farm in Chilhowie. He has been endorsed by Former U.S. Senator and Virginia Governor George Allen, Former Governor Bob McDonnell, Attorney General Jason Miyares, and Democrat Incumbent Roy Evans. Blevins is a lifelong Republican who currently serves as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Smyth County. He and his wife, Katie Jo, live in Chilhowie with their two sons, Noah and Luke.
